Lifting:
1. Squats, 135 lbs, 5 sets, 16 reps
2. Bench, 135 lbs, 5 sets, 16 reps

Box Jumps:
1. 24in, 4 sets, 12 reps

2. 30 in, 1 set, 6 reps

Leg, calves, muscles in my feet I never knew i had were burning… Managed to pump out 6 reps of 30 in box jumps before Jiu-jitsu… Been try to work my explosive movements. Figured box jumping would improve that seeing i don’t do any other sport activities anymore. Used to love basket ball, snow boarding, soccer, tennis, and now its all just BJJ focus…

Stretched for 15 mins, then some of the boys started showing up…

Started with the standard warm up and running around…

Of course lots of shrimping, forwards and backward, among other cool stuff lol

Did some take down drills…

Then we reviewed a few loop choke variations…

Love them loop chokes…

Then some rolling…

8 min rounds, only had time to roll once…

Man am I ever sore, from the lifting and everything else…

Alex the new whit belt was giving me all he had…

Got to to LEMMA around 6pm, got volunteered amongst other peoples to be a dummy for the rug rats…

Diesel ran the class today…

Warm up was my favourite with repping out arm bar swings, 10 on each side and then the good old fashioned hip bump sweeps.

For those of you that attend my Sunday classes, you know there are about 8 or 9 other drills we run down… Oss.

Partnered with Josh the beast Daluca, yep beast. Strong like bull, moves like one too. >

Tired with all the traveling, flying, driving and super long traveling weekend festivities, from the little monkey being up, the long working day but hey…

Diesel got us to work on a few variations of an arm bar then one into a sweep.

King of the mat starting from closed guard, then rolling afterwards.

First, I got grouped with Josh, & Jesse. Physical phenoms lol… athletic smashers lol. It was fun and I got pushed around. Second, I got grouped with Philippe, & Marc. Yep pushed around lol… then it was Luke and Juno lol. Man, only Marco was my size lol.

Rolling: (4 min rounds, 30 sec breaks)

Great rounds, and I got pushed. Sometimes rolling with bigger guys puts my technical ability to the test and reminds me that technique rules all

They are STRONGER, they are more muscular. I muscle back, I’m smaller, they win the strength and push battle I gas, & I can die.

Not smart, had to change my strategies… lol especially when a bull mounts you yep.

Got to LEMMA around ummm 6pm… yesterday was mentally draining.

Meeting was what made the day irritable, but I got through it.

Little guy has been teething for a week… poor monkey.

Rolled with Diesel for a whole 15 mins.

Diesel coached the class. He went through some arm-bar variations & an omaplata sweep with one of the entries.

Nathan was in at 9:30 am, Fantastic… got him to run a warm up.

Daddy Day care says Brittany…lol when she got in lol…

Nathan got the guys to do a standard rolling around and stuff.

The Frenchman, Justin St Man Crusher was in as well.

Drilling: (1 min each, then switch)

  2. Hip bump sweeps’,

  5. Marcelotines’,
  6. Omaplatas’,

Technique: (15 min)

Reviewed the rear back GI chokes with the homies, the closed guard cross collar from last week, then discussed a variation with the thumb in, while waiting for your opponent to pop their head out while attempting an escape.

Positional Drills: (50% & 75% resistance)

Everyone had an opportunity to work this with everyone, and then they alternated between being in the closed guard, defending, or attacking with only cross collars.

Lost in arm-bars… in fact 4 variations, mainly fat man ones, at least that what i call them, with different entries, grips, and options in attacking the the opposite arm for the omaplata and even just sweeping. Then we rolled with 3 min rounds. I find the 3 min rounds are the bruisers… everyone seems to go sooo freaking hard crazy crazy…

Technique:

We continued to work on collar chokes, diving into further details on the cross collar while your attacker is in your guard. details discussing the wrist, and shaving the face if you couldn’t attacked with both palms up and not to use strength.

Morgo was in with a guest from the US.

Warm up was short with a a few variation of an ankle pick with a collar tie. Technique involved a slip collar choke transition switch to preposition to the opposing size when your partner defends by moving to the opposite side of the over hook and with your partner turtling to defend. Keith was in for a bit, and he showed us a few variants of the take down which was nice. My favorite was collar tie to a mount guillotine.

Luke was late missing the warm-up per usual.

For the remainder of the class we position-ally drilled the back exercise with 2 minute rounds, you on me, then me on you exercise, until everyone had an opportunity to go with everyone. Similar to Submission Challenges or even EBI’s sudden death or over time rounds.

We tried with full lapel grips first… no dice.

Figure got shot except mine of course..:P 

Then moved to just starting with the full harness…

Oh boy duder is still as strong. Oh Justin St Amand… you do know I’m talking about you. Your drive is what makes you excel above others. Keep at it brother. You are a force to be reckoned with.

Morgan was in, even with his broken toe… noticed Nathan leaving while pulling in. Scotty too hotty was just on his way out. Morgan was helping Katrina with various issues. Yep I got the beast of a white belt waiting to gobble me up. lol

Morgan ran a short warm-up with a positional drilling exercise.

Coach got us to drill on a few self-defense back take defense variations. I Partnered with Justin the beast Sillyman. First from the head lock when your attacker misses the head strike. Then second from a body lock from behind.

Coach then got us to drill a closed guard, with double belt grip break, to an over hook, then London guard with a collar grip, then omaplata, with even strikes.
