This week has been a break from BJJ… due to trying not to get injured prior to the Competition this weekend… in the US!
Gotta keep the mind sharp somehow… mediation, stretching, trying to get lots of sleep, good diet… (hardly with the baby lol) and YouTube BJJ matches!!
Will give ya’ll an update with the results and video of matches Oss!
In the mean time check out this cool clip of Marcus Almeida Buchecha x Alex Trans

Oss!
Black belts take too long to do crap. -.-
Never seen any submissions in these matches. Except some Rodrigo Medioros fights and the Gracie vs Correa match from 2011 i think. And even then, he didn’t completely win, win.

much harder when the variance in skills sets at the upper levels are similar… Absolute Black Belt levels.

True! but life if u watch my fights, and bear in mind I’ve been at it for a little less than a year, they’re done in under a minute. If I win. If not, the guy usually only wins on points.

Sounds about right, at most first year marks, there is always a distinct winner by a submission. It was the same for me when I started in 2008. Something to do with the ability to absorb risk… you take more risk to hit a submission if you miss, then typically your appointment may take advantage, pending on his skill sets and whether they can see the opportunity. Even in my bluebelt competitions I would say there were distinct wims.
Now lol… different story. Could go based on a submission or points, really depends on like a million different variables… however when all things are similar, then typically a stalemate will occur. Points being the deciding factor.
